  • Michael A. Fornaro, PhD, ISA AM, is an accredited fine art and personal property appraiser, art advisor, and cultural property specialist with more than 15 years of professional experience. Specializing in Post-War and Contemporary Art, Michael provides independent valuation and advisory services to private collectors, families, and institutions. His advanced education in architecture, urban studies, and design, combined with extensive executive leadership experience, brings a distinctive perspective to the valuation, preservation, and stewardship of significant collections. Michael and the Luxe Art Advisors team specialize in Fine Art and Insurance Appraisals, providing comprehensive photographic inventories, detailed object descriptions, market research, and professionally supported replacement-value conclusions. These services assist clients in establishing appropriate insurance coverage, documenting ownership, and supporting estate planning and charitable contribution requirements, including qualified appraisals for IRS Form 8283 when applicable. Periodic appraisal updates, generally every three to five years, help ensure valuations remain consistent with changing market conditions. Committed to the advancement of arts and cultural institutions, Michael serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, where he chairs the Facilities & Grounds Committee. He also serves on the Dean's Advisory Council for Florida State University's College of Fine Arts.
